A message to remember...

hmm...this 2 months had gave me few messages in becoming a piano teacher..
heard a numbers of case from different different people...

Case 1:
older piano teacher is being too traditional that most of them cant accept that there are many new methods that is worth trying...

from this...it is very clearly seen that piano teacher world is too invert...they r always stucked in a tiny room and teacher students throughout their life...never ever they think that world has change and same as them...
Get out of the 4 walls room and breathe in new air please! there are so many new knowledge around!!!

Case 2:
Piano teacher thinks that they should be paid very on time! (those working in centers?) n their consequence of not getting paid on time is:  "teacher: admin! cancel all my lessons of the day...
                                              admin: erm...what is the reason i should tell your student?
                                              teacher: oh...tell them...the boss is not paying me...so i am not teaching till i      
                                                           am PAID...

Whoa....geng...so old de still dont know how to maturely treat things..

yes is understandable that most of us having commitments...but be considerate? your boss need time to process your cheques! so once in a while they may not get it done on time? do u know that everywhere u work...this kind of situation does happen... dumb...

Case 3:
"teacher X: admin...can u please call my 6pm student's parent...tell them that i am not suitable to teach their 
                  child...i will tranfer it to teacher Y (teacher Y havent agree yet) and teacher Y already
                  agreed..ok? MAKE SURE I WILL NOT SEE THIS STUDENT ANYMORE NEXT WEEK!admin: er...u just teach that student for 1 month? y u think that u r not suitable to teach that student?
teacher X: (rudely he said) just put it this way...because i am a man...
                 (pause awhile) and anyway...i dont mind losing this student because the money is like kacang
                  putih...

WHAT kind of teacher is this? very obviously he is teaching for money...not for the sake of sharing this art to people who r interested...what on earth???

so conclusion is that...to me...being a piano teacher..
1. be open minded to watever new input that is around...never ever close yourself to your own world..
2. be more considerate with your boss...he/she could not be nice but yet he/she is the one that provide working opportunity for u? if u really dont like it...dont work for a boss then...be boss urself n u will c how difficult life could be when dealing with different different people..
3. students maybe difficult to deal with...especially those who r not so talented...then again..try your best to help out! anyhow..u hav decide to be a piano teacher...so be responsible...
